What is it? It is a fun-filled day of fun and entertainment for the whole family, a day in which businesses, organizations, schools, groups of friends enjoy a fun competition to see who makes the best chili in Montgomery--Who is the “hottest” bank, insurance or real estate agency, law firm, medical office, neighborhood, etc?? In addition to feasting on unlimited amounts of chili, attendees will also enjoy some great musical entertainment or just watch college football on a big screen!

When? TBA

Where? The Train Shed (behind the Railroad Terminal) in Downtown Montgomery.

Why? The proceeds of the Capitol City Chili Cook-off will be used to support the charitable and service projects of the Montgomery Lions Club and its affiliated entities:

  • Sight Conservation Programs: Vision Screening of School Children, Training of Seeing-Eye Dogs, and Lions International Sight Projects.

  • Youth Assistance Programs: Junior Lions and Lionesses Summer Camps, and the Miracle League

  • Youth Leadership Development Programs: International Youth Camps, High School Leadership Program, Youth to Europe.

  • Community Projects: Benefiting life in the River Region
